Cute Toronto : The Distillery District
CUTE TORONTO!
Hello Darlin's! - I decided to plan a few posts while I'm in Punta Cana!
It's been a while since I've done a "Cute Toronto" post. It's no secret that I'm in love with my city, and I always love learning about where everyone lives so I always want to spread Toronto Love!
Today I am posting about The Distillery District!
Taken from The Distillery Website:
"The Distillery District is a national Historic Site with an incredibly rich history. The site was once The Gooderham and Worts Distillery, and represents the largest and best preserved collection of Victorian Industrial Architecture in North America.
In its time, The Gooderham and Worts Distillery played an important role in the growth and wealth of both the city and nation. In addition to various involvements in real estate and banking, the company at one time contributed more to Federal coffers than any other enterprise in the country."
I always love going to the Distillery. It has a great feel to it and is a beautiful, clean, unique place in the city. Swarming with tourists and locals, it's a great place to go to spend the day, check out local art work and vendors, have an amazing meal, meet up with friends and family, or checking out what festival is going on that weekend! My absolute favourite time to go to the Distillery is at Christmas time (obvioussssly) They turn the entire district in to an old time Christmas - it's honestly magical. I think I am tearing up just thinking about it! If you are from the Toronto area, or are visiting at that time, you need to go! They have so many amazing things during that time, carolling, vendors, reindeer, concerts etc. It's totally perfect. Grab a coffee or a cider and explore! MAGIC!
One of my favourite spots in the city :)
