loving your job is awesome!

Well hello loves & Happy Thursday! I just wanted to share this blog post that my work S-Trip! did last week about my #JobOfaLifetime >> So many people ask me what I do full time and this paints a picture of my dream job. I've never felt so proud of where I work! Please check out the post below, it was originally posted by my pal Sabs on the S-Trip! Blog!

Culture Coordinator / Julie Ross Christmas / Lover of Love

Q. Can you explain what you do at S-Trip! in one sentence?

I coordinate happiness! I work with our internal and external staff to help make sure that they are passionate, excited, and proud to work for S-Trip!. (BEST job ever!) To bring a smile to someones face, or brighten someone’s day, I love to sneak a little candy or chocolate onto their desk with a sweet note. I love seeing how excited people get when they receive a “secret admirer” gift – although, everyone already knows it’s from me!

Q. What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job has to be coming into the office every day and being surrounded by inspiring, positive, and energetic people. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to say that you LOVE your job! I also really enjoy thinking of creative ways to keep the culture of our office fun & fresh!

Q. How would you describe your team?

Three’s company! There are only three of us in the HR department, which may seem small to most, but we work so well together, and I think that we are such a great team! HR is all about working together and having a diverse set of skills, and our team has such a great dynamic!

Q. What is your favourite S-Trip! memory?

My favourite S-Trip! memory has to be when I staffed in Punta Cana – there isn’t a specific moment that I can take away from this trip, because it was all an amazing experience for me! I created such a strong bond with both the staff and the students on the trip, and I will always keep that in my heart. We all shared an amazing week filled with adventures, laughs, sunshine and unforgettable memories!
Another more recent memory would be from this past August when the whole company went to Camp White Pine as a weekend getaway. It was my birthday on the day that we arrived, and from 9:00 a.m. until the wee hours of the morning, I received so much love from everyone! Spending my birthday with over 100 of my S-Trip! babes made it the BEST birthday I’ve ever had. At S-Trip!, we are just too good at making people feel special!

Q. What is your favourite travel memory?

Oh it’s just too hard to choose just one, so here’s a quick summary: Going to see a live taping of SNL in New York and getting to meet the cast; walking across Abbey Road in London; Visiting the Cavern Club in Liverpool; Reuniting with old friends in Holland; Drinking the best coffee while people-watching in Paris; and lastly, spending two summers on the beautiful beaches of Bermuda while working on a cruise ship!
On an S-Trip! related note, this past July I was given the amazing opportunity to travel to Thailand with 17 of my S-Trip! co-workers! It was one of the greatest adventures of my life, and I am beyond thankful to all my coworkers who nominated me for this incentive trip! Travelling across the globe together allowed all of us to learn more about one another, as well as create incredible memories that we will share for the rest of our lives

Q. What would be your #TripofaLifetime?

I have been lucky enough to travel to many of places on my bucket list, but some dreams of mine are to travel to the California coast, do a cross-Canada tour, wear flowers in my hair in Hawaii, watch a few hockey games in different US cities, and chat with some lads in an authentic Irish pub.

Q. What song best describes your personality?

All you need is LOVE” by The Beatles. I love The Beatles – and the one thing that I love even more than The Beatles is LOVE! Do what you love, and LOVE what you do!

Q. Number one travel tip?

Bring a notebook to write down all the amazing and funny things that happen during your trip! I am known for writing down funny moments and quotes – it’s such a great way to keep yourself entertained during your flight home!

Q. What do you like to do on your days off?

I love to blog (check out my blog here!)! I also love to go on adventures, bake cupcakes, watch hockey (Go Leafs Go!), buy dresses, host parties, explore new & old places in Toronto, have picnics, do arts & crafts, go to the movies, travel, write letters, have sleepovers, dream about Christmas time, drink coffee, shop ’til I drop, and spend time with my boyfriend, family and friends!

Q. Which S-Trip! Mantra do you most represent, why?

It’s so hard for me to choose just one! I think I have to say that I most represent “Make an Impact.” Making an impact is a huge part of my role here at S-Trip!. I am constantly thinking of ways of keeping up the office morale, as well as making people happy and excited to come into work every day. Making a positive impact on my co-workers is one of the most important things to me when it comes to my role here!
“Make an Impact” is not the only Mantra that I feel most connected to, though – “Bring the Fun” is another Mantra I represent largely. Whether it’s having a jar full of candy on my desk, buying surprise flowers for someone, or planning an awesome party for the whole crew – FUN is my jam!
