gift guide for the bride-to-be (2).jpg

Hello + Happy Friday!

We’re having the most cozy, hygge day ever over here. Otis and I were planning on going out and about in the city today but we got lots of snow last night and this morning and have decided to make today a snow day!

We stayed in bed an extra few hours this morning cuddling and relaxing after a really busy day yesterday and Otis’ first real Christmas party last night (he was an absolute champ and we had so much fun!)

Otie is currently napping on my chest as I write this (melting!) and we’re watching “All I Want For Christmas” because we’ve got lots of Christmas movies to watch in the next few weeks! :)

I wanted to share some of my favourite items for new moms as a little gift guide for y’all, because let’s be honest - who doesn’t love a gift guide?!

These are just things I’ve personally really loved for both me and Otie during our first month together (omg!)

snuggle me organic // This is probably my top pick and “can’t live without item” in those first few hazey days when your baby doesn’t want to be anywhere but in your arms, the snuggle me is a great (cozy) place for them to chill and nap. He’s been sleeping in it in between us too (as long as they’re supervised in it, it’s a safe place for them to be!) 100% worth it/could not live without it at this point.

swell water bottle // Giiiirl you thought you were thirsty during pregnancy? Just wait until you’re breastfeeding! I drink so much water everyday and having a water bottle to take with you when you go out is crucial and also one on your bedside table!

chest mate soothing nipple cream // Love Saje and this product is really nice. I am trying to get into the habit of putting the cream on after every feed, but using it a few times a week event helps. Saje also has some baby products too that we have slowly started using.

knix nursing bra // This! changed! my! life! I love Knix as a brand and their leak proof nursing bra is SO comfortable and essential. If I am going out somewhere I will still put nursing pads in just in case, but generally speaking they really are leak proof and super comfortable!

desitin diaper cream // There are tons of different diaper creams out there and I am sure different ones work well for different babies, but this one has been the best for Otis. He was started to get a bit of a diaper rash a few weeks ago and as soon as we switched to desitin it went away within a few days.

tommee tippee soothers // The 0-3 month ones have been O’s favourites. I find a lot of the brands newborn soothers were HUGE and took up his whole face! (lol) but the Tommee Tippee newborn ones are tiny and cute and he seems to really like them.

literally any onesie with zippers on them (!!!) // I don’t understand why sooo many onesies still have buttons and find most of them just don’t have zippers. But, let me tell you, when you get a cute onesie WITH a zipperm it is truly magical. I ordered a bunch of newborn ones from Carter’s and lots with zippers!

pampers wipes x a million (lol) // These have been our favourite wipes, there are tons out there and I think they all do the same job but these are very affordable (always seem to be on sale!) plus the packaging is the cutest (haha, ya I went there!)

mom’s one line a day memory book // I am not using this exact one but I am using a joy journal and I have really liked documenting our moments with Otis so far. I maybe missed 1 or 2 days but have been writing a few lines everyday and it’s so nice. A great way to highlight the positive moments too.

diaper/change station diaper caddy // This has been the ultimate #momhack and life saver for me! Since our house is small, and our change table is upstairs, I made a little diaper caddy with all the essentials for during the day while Pete is at work. I stock it with diapers, wipes, diaper cream, a change mat and a baby blanket in case of spit up! Would DEF recommend, and this one was super cute and cheap from Amazon!

baileys for your coffee and baileys mornings // Not gonna lie, this was probably the one alcohol I REALLY missed during pregnancy. I just legit love my coffee and baileys! Great gift idea for a new mom and something she may really look forward to after a sleepless night (or two!)

YAY! I hope you enjoyed my picks and leave a comment if you have any questions or hit me up on insta for more of that mom content! @heyjulesxo
