a shop small christmas!

It’s mid-November which means Christmas is on my mind (and has been for the past six or so months! lol) and this year I am thinking about my favourite holiday in a whole new way.

The pandemic has been heartbreaking for so many reasons, but one thing that has been really tough is seeing so many amazing small businesses struggle. These folks already have to work harder than big box stores to make things work, and when there’s this much unknown in the world it adds a lot of added stress for them to make ends meet.

I love supporting small shops and brands, especially ones from Toronto. This year (more than ever) I am focusing on buying local for Christmas gifts, as well as making and crafting as many things as possible, which I love to do so much! I know this isn’t possible for everyone, but if you can make it happen (even just a bit) I think it will go a long way.

Today’s news about Toronto going back to stage one leaves us with so many emotions. We know this is the right thing we need to do, but that doesn’t make it easier for all of us.
